We Own A – – –

Jack returns with his Wednesday guest blog post following Wendy’s various reports on our Scottish tour – –

Her full name is Iona Dawg and we collected her from the dog shelter just a week ago. Iona is the name of a Scottish island and dawg is much closer to here.

Her first few days she was pretty freaked and had no idea where she was or what was going on. She chased our cats so they were moved upstairs. Wendy went and bought a crate for her to sleep in. Then over the next couple of days she began to settle and explore both in the house and out in the backyard. We wondered why our laptops weren’t charging and discovered she’d chewed on the cords as well as the cord to charge our phones! We started to move everything she might tear up to high ground. So she broke the cat flap to the porch instead.

We were told she was probably around two years old but we’re fairly sure she’s a good bit younger and doesn’t seem to have had any training. Maybe she went to human obedience classes and she’s trying to train us?

She appears to regard Wendy as the ‘good cop’ and me as the bad one.

But there’s a dog training place just round the corner and I’ll be phoning them tomorrow to enroll her and me. That’s right after I take her to our local vet for her shots and a health check.

It’s a dog’s life – – –
